L'Allemagne a mis la pression à la Commission Européenne et a réussi à assouplir l'interdiction des moteurs thermiques après 2035. En effet les voitures à moteurs thermiques utilisant du carburant de synthèse seront autorisées à être produite après 2035. Cette technologie encore en développement qui consisterait à produire du carburant à partir de CO2 issu des activités industrielles.  La technologie des carburants de synthèse est contestée par les ONG environnementales qui la jugent coûteuse, énergivore et polluante. C'est honteux de faire une telle volte-face. 


Germany put pressure on the European Commission and succeeded in relaxing the ban on internal combustion engines after 2035. Indeed, cars with internal combustion engines using synthetic fuel will be authorized to be produced after 2035. This technology is still under development which would consist in producing fuel from CO2 resulting from industrial activities. Synthetic fuel technology is contested by environmental NGOs who consider it costly, energy-intensive and polluting. It is shameful to make such an about-face.
